Andrew Mangham, Technology Coordinator, Guiseley School

Andrew has been a technology teacher now for ten years and a department coordinator for four of those years. He came into teaching rather late after working as a supermarket manager for several years but often calls upon this experience when organizing the work of the department.

After a brief one year spell at Foulstone secondary school in Barnsley Andrew moved to Guiseley School where he has now been for nine years specializing in the teaching of systems and control.

The school became a Technology College seven years ago and Andrew’s department has been at the forefront of the school’s push in this direction. He has recently started studying for an MSc in Technological Education, which has made him question and adapt how to teach his subject.
