For this lesson learners can start to develop and create their school building and should have an idea of what kind of materials they are going to use and how accessible they are to them. The most suitable material to use would be different coloured cardboard, paper and some textiles. If this project is to take place in the Design Technology subject area then materials like wood maybe used. Design your building carefully - don't design something that will be hard to actually put together and dont use unusual materials unless authorised by the teacher in charge.

Objectives for this lesson:

Use materials provided to start to build a future school building model

Work in groups of no less than 3 to complete model in 3-4 lessons so it can be presented to the teacher and class for assessment

Outcomes for this lesson:

By the end of the lesson all Learners will have created a basic structure for their model with at least 2 walls and floors. Some learners will have created more walls and floors dependant on ability and time constraints

Evidence

Work will be shown to teacher and or photographs can be taken by mobile phone or digital camera and then saved into learner shared area or portable memory device or bluetoothed to their mobile, Computers or other handheld learning/storage device.
