This is the 'Future school' learning resource Created by Mr Anwar from Birkdale High school in West Yorkshire. My resource enables collaboration between ICT, Art and Design Technology or Product Design and an integration of multiple software applications. It has been created to let students design and build their ideal school by using a variety of skills from different subject areas. Students can design individual floor plans, department plans, classrooms and the whole building by using materials or by using drawing and designing software applications. All learners have been asked to design and plan ideas for your future school building as part of a competition for your local council. Starting with the ground floor and then making the first and second floors. You will be deciding which subjects will be taught at your school and how many classrooms will be in each department. You must include the 4 core subjects (Maths, English, Science and ICT) and then decide which other subjects will be taught. Just click on the links provided on the main Index page to access lesson outcome examples and instructions about teaching this project. The range of National Curriculum levels will range from level 3 to level 7 and the level will depend on the quality of work and outcome of tasks completed and innovatative ideas for the design and planning of the school. As an extension task learners can create an Eportfolio to showcase the work for themselves or as a class or a group. NC levels are judged against the outcomes of this project the better the overall quality, designs, additional extension tasks are completed will determine the final grade for the learners. |
