Lesson 4

Starter: What can students reacall about the definition of bullying in lesson 2? Display the definition .. what can they add to it?

Introduction: Divide class into pairs or groups for main activity. Display relevant slide from PowerPoint 1.1 outlining requirements of task.

Development: Using ideas from planning homework [lesson 3], students begin creating their bullying webpage using PowerPoint.

Plenary: Evaluate progress so far and any problems encountered. Remind students that they will only have one more lesson to finish work and prepare for presentation!

Lesson 5

Starter: Display  the worksheet student dilemmas. What advice and/or information would the class give in response to these questions?

Introduction: Remind students that they will be presenting their website to class next lesson – display the evaluation form and explain this is what they will be assessed on.

Development: Students finish their website pages and prepare themselves for the presentation, ensuring that they cover all the areas covered in the evaluation form.

Plenary: Are all students ready for the presentation? Can they suggest any do’s and don’ts when presenting?

Homework: Students to ensure they are ready for presentation next lesson.

Lesson 6

Starter: Students recap and demonstrate effective techniques when presenting to class.

Introduction: Hand out copies of the evaluation form and assign each group another group to evaluate.

Development: Students present websites to rest of class, highlighting key areas from the evaluation form.

Plenary: Which group was most or least successful and why? Which website would be best suited to the audience and purpose?

Homework: Students to write a brief summary of how their website is appropriate for the audience and purpose.
