| Main activities |
Use the main slideshow to show how electricity is used in the production of many of the materials we can recycle and how it uses much less energy to reuse them than to create new ones from scratch.
Get pupils to do any or all of the following:
- Research what is done in their local area/ school to encourage recycling
- To design a poster to show people the importance of recycling
- To research what uses recycled materials are put to, maybe even organize a sale of recycled goods.
Write their own song or poem to advertise the importance of recycling. |

Can replay the 3Rs song – if they have the words encourage them to sing along – it’s very catchy! |
| Extension/homework |
Could extend this lesson into more than one session with homeworks using any of the ideas listed above. |
