Lesson 1
Lesson 1 is about creating parts for your very own robot. You will be using some of the drawing tools that are available in Flash 8. You will need to create the parts of your robot as separate images. The idea behind this is to allow someone to put your robot together using the drag and drop feature in Flash. Remember the more parts you build, the better the game will be!
Lesson 2
Lesson 2 is about building your robot and adding actions to the different parts of the robot. The idea is to make the different parts of the robot drag and dropable, enabling you to put the parts together. This lesson will teach you some basic action script.
Lesson 3
Lesson 3 takes drag and drop a little further. In the first two lessons you made objects drag and dropable. In this lesson you will be designing different shapes with drag areas. This will enable you to drag a shape onto a hotspot and have something happen when it hits that particular spot!
Lesson 4
Lesson 4 is about adding the action script for the shapes. You will learn how and where to add the action script. This session covers some basic IF statements; for example, IF this shape is placed here, THEN do this.
When the tutorial is complete, try experimenting with different shapes and different drag and drop games of your own. Maybe something like a CD player where you drag and drop a CD onto a player would be good! There are lots of mini games you can create with this idea, so please experiment with this resource.
