French KS3 Year 7 Modules 3 and 4
Ma famille, mes animaux et mon temps libre
Reference booklets have been produced for students for each module, so as to provide extra support for the students -
We are also refering to the Outline for Year 7 Term 3 when planning in our department.
Just before the end of term 3, and in order to tally with the school policy, we have had to design a mini test for the end of Term 3.
Project based learning ideas:
Topic 3: ma famille/mes animaux
- Pop star or famous family (The Osbornes) presentation: redrafting copying and pasting pictures from the internet.
- Create an award certificate in the target language for a member of the Simpsons Family.
- E-mail a member of the Simpsons’ family and give out basic information about it, recycling what you have learnt so far.
- Self portrait. They can include details about their physical description, character, family and pets. They can scan photos.
- Design the Simpsons’ family tree.
- Interview your family and record a movie, edit it and cover up their voice with French, then email it/send it to a Comenius school in France.
Topic 4: Mon temps libre
- Advertise with a brochure, the ideal Springfield’s [Simpson family village] leisure centre
- Write an email to a member of the Simpsons' family about your hobbies and interests.
- Special Award Powerpoint for weather and leisure activities indoors & outdoors.
- Prepare a trip : research where you are going, book accommodation and decide activities.
- Research different youth hostels in France and present your findings in a survey or graphs.
- Make a recording about arranging a date with a friend using MovieMaker for your voice and some images from Google.
- Create a poster of the sporty/and non sporty Simpsons’ daily leisure activities.
