Many schools are moving to a two-year Key Stage 3 as part of their response to the new curriculum, and Hugh Christie Technology College is one of them.
Karine Kleywegt, Director of Languages at Hugh Christie has designed a scheme of work to cater for the condensed KS3 curriculum, which has been in place for a few years in some schools now.
Creating a new scheme of work to cater for the need to shorten the Key Stage 3 curriculum to two years provides an opportunity for us to teach a vocabulary-focused content in schemes of work, and enables us to teach languages using more ICT and interactive games as well as project based learning.
Currently, this resource offers a condensed programme for Year 7 French and Year 7 Spanish; year 8 materials will follow in 2009! |
