Lesson and learning objectives	Desired learning outcome

1 Wo ist? Learning to ask for and give directions	All pupils will be able to ask “wo ist…” All pupils will learn at least 5 places in town All pupils will be able to use “Gehen Sie...” with a limited level of instructions. Some will progress further and use longer sentences with “und dann”



2 Wo ist [2]? Learning to ask for and give directions	All pupils will learn to use “Nehmen Sie”, ordinal numbers and the word “Straße”. Most pupils will be able to give more complex directions.



3 Am Bahnhof Learning to buy a ticket at the station	Students will be able to understand einfach and hin und zurueck Ask for a ticket Understand how much something costs [whole €]



4 Wann fährt der Zug? Learning to ask when a train leaves	All pupils will be able to recall numbers 1 - 12 and multiples of 5 up to 60 All pupils will be able to read a digital clock All pupils will be able to ask what time a train leaves. Some pupils will be able to ask for a ticket and train times in the same conversation.



5 Flüge Büchen Learning how to book a flight	All pupils will recall the 7 days of the week All pupils recognise times and dates. All pupils will be able to use times or dates with “Am” or “Um” All pupils will be able to read and understand sentences using “Ich möchte + nach…..fahren” Some pupils will even be able to book more than one ticket or ask for a return.



6 Schilder Learning to read signs Learning to use dictionaries Learning to access compound words	All pupils will be able to read at least 5 signs All pupils will understand what a compound word is. Some pupils will be able to split up compound words and deduce their meaning accurately All pupils will be able to use a bilingual dictionary Some pupils will be able to translate authentic signs
