This series of 5 lessons explores the study of percentages for Key Stage 3 students. A plan of each lesson is provided together with starter and plenary activities and in some cases, extension activities for those students who require the extra challenge.
The resources cover the use of multipliers and dividers to calculate percentages ... and also relates these functions to real life activities, like calculating compound interest on bank savings etc and investigating the effect of interest rate changes for borrowers and savers.
By the end of the lessons, students should be able to complete a percentages 'storyboard' ... so working out the multipliers and dividers that have been used to work through a sequence of numbers and therefore really testing the knowledge and ability of the students.
