Lesson 1

This series of lessons is aimed at a year 7 class, specifically for those students with language difficulties. It could be used in year 9 as well as a revision project or even as a homework project for Gifted and Talented students.

In the first lesson, the teacher should take students through the PowerPoint presentation, to give them a basic idea of how electrical circuits work. If this project is being used in year 7 it will possibly be the first time that they have come across some of these terms [all key terms are highlighted] so care should be taken to make sure they understand.

If the project is being used in year 9, then it should be revision of topics they know from year 7.

Students will then be given the match up worksheet to test their understanding. This could either be given to the students as is so that the students can draw lines between the correct pairs, or could be cut up and turned in to a matching game.
