Students to consider what parents use what grandparents use. For example, what does and did 'mouse' mean? Collate ideas. |

Students should focus on their report writing.
In small groups of 2 or 3, students should study the original report of the Flannan Isle events [in its entirety or selected extracts]. They should highlight names, dates, proper nounds and figures etc and note the formality of the language used and archaic constructions.
Students should feedback their comments and evaluations of the report. |

Consider the Superintendant’s explanation of the disappearance of the three lighthouse keepers - how did he come to this conclusion? Students to feedback to the class.
They should then compare their report writing with the original report. |
