Use the presentation to introduce the topic and reasons for its study. This will test what students already know about gender patterns and also looks at some common masculine word endings. Students then find their own examples using dictionaries.

When I tried this with my Year 10 class, it was a popular exercise, and I have to say that since that exercise they are nearly always able to spot whether a noun is masculine or not!

The two swf files in this section are only meant to enhance the presentation by adding some impressive animation and therefore, serve little purpose when opened separately. They just need to be downloaded and saved in the same folder as the presentation.
