One of the Key Concepts from the New KS3 Music Curriculum is the Creativity statement which suggests that we should be exploring ways music can be combined with other art forms and other subject disciplines.

Timetabling constraints in bringing two or more subject departments together are often insurmountable or can cause considerable disruption to the rest of the school. One way round this is to bring elements of another subject into the music lesson.

The three stage process is as follows:

  • make a list of the musical concepts you want to focus on
  • find resources from other subject areas that use similar concepts
  • explore these resources through music
