About Gaelle ...

While being a Language assistant in Plymouth, I realised that teaching in the UK was what I wanted to do. So I enrolled in a GCSE course with St Martin's college and later started my teaching career at Hillview school for Girls in Tonbridge, Kent. Not only did I teach French and Spanish to students from year 7 to A level there, but I also tried my hand at teaching National Language Units [vocational] and coordinating the introduction of the Extended Project [part of the Diplomas].

I have now been working as Head of Languages at Holmewood House School in Langton Green, Kent since September 2008 and teaching a totally different age group [years 1 to 8]. That's when I realised that teaching languages to primary school children was a completely different but oh so enjoyable experience. However, it could also be daunting for non-specialist teachers! This is why I have worked on this project. I wanted to try to give non-specialist teachers some ready-to-use resources to help start them on their journey with languages. I hope this will be useful. Bonne chance!
