2010 is the 25th anniversary of Live Aid, the most high-profile of all charity concerts. This unit could be adapted to fit the organisaiton around any school production and investigates the power of Excel for this purpose.

Mondays for Year 7s are ' project days' when the students are taught by just one teacher. This eases transition and means that teachers can hone skills and competences to improve student performance across all subject areas. The focus for the project pre Xmas was the production of saleable gift items for the school's Xmas fair!

This scheme of work incorporates project-based learning and is aimed at KS3 Y7 students. The scheme is called ‘Going Global’ and is set out over seven weeks covering Geography, History, Religious Studies and Art.

Photo Story motivates the most reluctant of children; it is easy to use and gives professional looking results. Using single clicks, photographs can be given special effects and sound tracks, titles and captions. They can be viewed on a computer, televsion or Windows Mobile device.

This resources is for teachers wishing to use a visualiser in the classroom. There are 4 presentations, the first is a generic introduction to the equipment whlst the remaining three have scientific uses [although the information is transferrable to any other subject area].

The aim of this learning resource is to provide pupils with the opportunity to make use of collaborative learning in a context rich in issues of human rights, diversity and sustainable development.

This project aims to help students gain the most from their revision programmes. Designed to be used without the assistance of a teacher, the resource provides presentations, advice and general tips on setting up revision timetables and identifying learning styles.

Students are asked to imagine that they are in charge of the school canteen or about to open a new restaurant. By the end of the unit, students should be able to create and use a database and spreadsheet effectively, present summary information, understand nutrition and be able to judge the nutritional content of different foods.

Learning to program computer games is a very worthwhile exercise on many levels. It develops planning, thinking skills, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and draws on a wide range of disciplines. This resource is based around the 'lite' version of a 2D games engine called Game Maker.

This scheme of work is aimed at pupils in year 10/11 who are C/D borderline. It combines numeracy and literacy skills within project based work. It was specifically designed for the Study Plus course which is designed to support students who have the ability to improve their academic performance.

This resource incorporates ICT, Art and Design Technology or Product Design and includes the use of multiple software applications. Students design and build their ideal school - floor plans, classrooms and eventually the whole building, using drawing and designing software applications.

This project was designed as part of our Enterprise  curriculum at KS4. Whilst previously, we have used some ‘bought in’ enterprise providers, we have also developed projects like this in house and can tailor them to fit our students and circumstances.

"Paperchase" is a cross curricular, stop motion animation project which has been set up for students at the end of Y9. The project calls upon Art and ICT skills, but could also include English.

This project sits well within the product design courses that we already offer and could be undertaken with Y9 or Y10 students, giving them both Enterprise skills and useful preparation for GCSE coursework in Graphics or Product Design.

This resource was trialled in the primary classroom as part of a unit of work to use spreadsheets to explore a mathematical model. However, in preparation for this, the author has looked at the value of sharing spreadsheets over the internet by using Google Apps.

This resource supports students with their independent use of tools to complete tasks. Therefore, students should be made aware of the toolbox and the rationale for its use, know the range of tools they have at their disposal and be able plan lessons and tasks which incorporate their use.

This project is designed to help teachers understand the Extended Project Qualification [EPQ] and start them off with some support and resources. The EPQ increases student confidence and develops skills required for independent working, problem solving and presentation.

This is a scheme of work complete with resources that can be used as is or modified as required.  When used with Y6 classes, it can prepare the student for any presentation unit they may be covering in Y7.  The finished e-portfolio is used to present work as required.

Mark's resource aims to support UK teachers running Duke of Edinburgh Awards Schemes but also offers resources for other outdoor expeditions. The resource also includes a video to demonstrate how to pitch a tunnel tent.

A 'jigsaw class' is split into small groups. Each group researches a topic based on one of the nine intelligences and imparts their knowledge to the rest of the class by way of presentations and interactive resources. Essentially, the class members teach themselves!

A fun WebQuest useful for all Key Stages, but ideal for use at primary level. Students will gather information about the pro's and con's of chocolate, then design their particular campaign leaflet.

With the use of Edward de Bono's Thinking Hats technique, this project allows students to discuss and debate the dilemma of a young, well educated Japanese woman, who is torn between returning to her village or moving elsewhere.
