Students create Warhol-esque imagery and displa it within a Powerpoint presentation. They gain an understanding of the life and work of Warhol, undertake basic art critique and investigate the more creative elements of Powerpoint. Finally, students use structured writing and persuasive argument techniques to compare 'pop-art' images with the works of the 'Masters'.

In this unit, students explore the culture of the Dogon tribe in West Africa and investigate ceremonial mask and costume making. They use this information to develop independent skills at researching, developing their own ideas, making a mask and evaluating the outcome.

Nicola is a seasoned user of Adobe Photoshop, but has recently discovered Fireworks - whilst a little daunting to use initially, she believes that you will find it so much easier than other applications for certain Art and Design work!

In this project, Nicola looks at the benefit of using PowerPoint to present Art work and for references good sources of supporting materials.

Pupils use a range of software applications to explore and create motifs which are then built into a repeating decorative patterns.

This project provides a context through which students understand abstraction and the purpose of manipulating images.

This gives 11-14 year old students an opportunity to create and format a presentation on the history of portraiture art - the approach could be adapted for any topic.
